Farnham, 27 September 2024:

BEDEO has entered the camping and motorhome market with a partnership with TRIGANO group, world renowned for representing some 27 motorhome marques and a plethora of caravan and camping equipment brands. The first motorhomes shown with BEDEO’s electrified systems are the Chausson X550 and X650 ElectriX alongside the X150 and X250 ElectriX models from sister brand, Challenger, and are currently on display at the Villepinte Leisure Vehicle Show (until 29 September).

Created in response to the increasing demand for sustainable travel, BEDEO’s innovative technology enables TRIGANO group to provide Chausson and Challenger a solution that merges eco-friendliness with performance and range, essential for today’s campers. BEDEO’s RE system offers the best of both worlds, allowing campers to drive at least 100 km in full-electric mode using a 37 kWh battery and 115 kW motors, ideal for nature-based and off-grid adventures. Meanwhile, for holidaymakers looking to travel and go the distance between home and camp sites, the ElectriX models can also achieve up to 900 km of range through the internal combustion engine. Available as standard with a 140 hp engine and manual transmission, additional options include a 180 hp engine and / or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Osman Boyner, Founder and CEO of BEDEO said: “Our [BEDEO’s] partnership with TRIGANO group marks a significant step in transforming the campervan market towards a more sustainable future. BEDEO’s electrification technology empowers adventurers to explore nature responsibly, offering the perfect balance between eco-conscious travel and long-range performance. We are proud to bring this innovation to life, providing a new level of flexibility and freedom for modern campers, and showcase that our electrification systems can be applicable to a range of use-cases – from vans to motorhomes.”

With the underpinning and guidance of the TRIGANO group, industry-renowned camping and motorhome specialists, the Chausson and Challenger ElectriX variants are said to represent the future of camping and eco-conscious travel. For example, with the Chausson X550 and X650 ElectriX, inside there’s a bright and modular living space, with a spacious living room that can accommodate up to four adults, alongside a fully equipped kitchen and a compact and functional bathroom. Further specifications include a panoramic roof, complete and high-quality equipment for the kitchen and bathroom, as well as an efficient heating system for all seasons. These specific motorhomes are available for European delivery.

The ElectriX versions have all the equipment of the X range and the electric mode included (battery and motors) from BEDEO technologies. Additionally, BEDEO’s technologies come with a seven-year or 100,000 km battery guarantee and are fully homologated, tested, and owned under proprietary license. The Chausson X550 and X650 ElectriX plus the Challenger X150 and X250 ElectriX can be viewed at the Villepinte Leisure Vehicle Show until 29 September at the Parc des Expos Paris-Nord Villepinte in France.

“Retrofit is going to be important in our [the UK’s] quest for not only a circular economy, but also to adopt electrification, and I’m surprised they [the UK government] aren’t doing more to support it – when you look at how popular Vinted and eBay are for fashion – why can’t we do that with cars and vans? Why do we have to just buy new?”
